Evan Bernstein is the New York Regional Director at the Anti-Defamation League and is responsible for all initiatives across New York State.

He is regularly quoted in numerous local and national news sources that have included CNN, the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times about issues related to civil rights and anti-Semitism. Evan  currently sits on the New York City Public Advocate’s Hate Crime Task Force and heads the New York ADL Law Enforcement Advisory Council. He has forged partnerships with elected officials, school administrators and intergroup leaders across the state. He has also testified in front of the New York City Council on topics that include anti-BDS legislation and public school bullying.

Evan has over 19 years of nonprofit experience. Before coming to the ADL, he was the Executive Director in America and on the senior management team in Israel for the social service organization Migdal Ohr.  His past experience also includes serving as the State Director for AIPAC in Arizona and as a Director at the consulting firm CCS.

Evan’s academic credits include a bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s degree from Harvard University. He is a native of Southeastern Connecticut where his father was a long time nonprofit executive and community leader in interfaith/intergroup work.
